Once I get Ben's pictures as well, I will update the posts to include those.
Since I took a ton of pictures, I'm going to break it up into each day we were there. So Day 1, we left the bus stop in Baltimore around 8am and arrived in NYC around 11:30am. Since we couldn't find a cab (they were all taken!) and weren't feeling up to navigating the subway with suitcases, we decided to walk the 22 blocks to our hotel. It actually didn't take us that long and we were able to do a lot of sight-seeing on the way! Once we arrived at our hotel, we checked our bags and then walked over to 5th Avenue to see all the shops and Central Park. As we were walking around, it started to pour...thankfully we had thought to bring our rain jackets! We visited the Apple store, FAO Schwartz, Tiffany & C0., Trump Tower, and some others.
Some of our first views of NYC from the bus window
Times Square! Our hotel was about 4 blocks from Times Square
A cool waterfall thing near Rockefeller Center
Radio City Music Hall
(Excuse my messy appearance...it was raining!)
Rockefeller Plaza
This is the ice rink except they transform it for spring/summer. Ben and I kept saying how much smaller it looks then it does on TV and movies!
Rockefeller again
The Lego store! They had bins organized by color and type of Lego...it was like a candy store, you could just fill a bag up with the pieces and colors you wanted! (Picture below)
Rockefeller again
St. Patricks cathedral was being worked on...actually a lot of the churches seemed to have work being done on them.
We know that dying isn't funny, but Ben and I thought this was a funny way to get the message across!
Tiffany & Co on the left, Trump Tower on the right
Hiding from the rain in FAO Schwartz! They had GIANT stuffed animals...I wanted Ben to buy me a pony but he wouldn't. He said it wouldn't fit on the bus.
A gigantic stuffed dog!
Captain America was there! I got yelled at for taking his picture...whoops!
The giant keyboard!
Lego Batman
Lego Statue of Liberty
Ben and his favorite childhood book! I also wanted to buy a ton of books while we were there.
Later I will post about Day 2....stay tuned!
I miss NYC! I would love to see a Broadway show again someday! I remember seeing Phantom of the Opera and when the chandelier fell, I jumped! I would love to see it again; I think I was too young to really appreciate it. Great photos! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! We had a ton of fun but by Sunday, I was ready to get away from the crowds and noise! I am not a city girl, lol! We should go to NYC for the day sometime as a girls date!
DeleteOMGoodness! A girls weekend would be SO MUCH FUN!!! We should go to Chinatown. :)
DeleteYes!!! That would be really awesome! Even if we just went for the day, it would be really fun!
